Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminium, with the chemical formula CuAl6 (PO4)4(OH) 8·4H2O. It is rare and valuable in finer grades and has been prized as a gem and ornamental stone for thousands of years owing to its unique hue. In recent times turquoise, like most other opaque gems, has been devalued by the introduction of treatments, imitations, and synthetics onto the market.

The substance has been known by many names, but the word turquoise was derived around the 16th century from the French language turquoise, for Central Asian material which was early imported through Turkey

Properties of turquoise

Even the finest of turquoise is fracturable, reaching a maximum hardness of just under 6, or slightly more than window glass. Characteristically a cryptocrystalline mineral, turquoise almost never forms single crystals and all of its properties are highly variable. Its crystal system is proven to be triclinic via X-ray diffraction testing. With lower hardness comes lower specific gravity (2.60–2.90) and greater porosity: These properties are dependent on grain size. The luster of turquoise is typically waxy to subvitre, and transparency is usually opaque, but may be semi translucent in thin sections. Color is as variable as the mineral's other properties, ranging from white to a powder blue to a sky blue, and from a blue-green to a yellowish green. The blue is attributed to idiochromatic copper while the green may be the result of either iron impurities (replacing aluminium) or dehydration.

The refractive index (as measured by sodium light, 589.3 nm) of turquoise is approximately 1.61 or 1.62; this is a mean value seen as a single reading on a gemmological refractometer, owing to the almost invariably polycrystalline nature of turquoise. A reading of 1.61–1.65 (birefringence 0.040, biaxial positive) has been taken from rare single crystals. An absorption spectrum may also be obtained with a hand-held spectroscope, revealing a line at 432 nanometres and a weak band at 460 nanometres (this is best seen with strong reflected light). Under long wave ultraviolet light, turquoise may occasionally fluoresce green, yellow or bright blue; it is inert under shortwave ultraviolet and X-rays.

Turquoise is insoluble in all but heated hydrochloric acid. Its streak is a pale bluish white and its fracture is conchoidal, leaving a waxy luster. Despite its low hardness relative to other gems, turquoise takes a good polish. Turquoise may also be peppered with flecks of pyrite or interspersed with dark, spidery limonite veining.

How do I cook "QUINOA"?

Quinoa (keen-wah) looks like little bell pepper seeds or little beads, but it's a grain. I've been told it's the only grain that's a complete protein and contains all 9 essential amino acids and it's a good source of magnesium.

So, my question is, how do I cook this, does anyone have any recipe I can follow?

Thanks....

2 cups quinoa
1 cup wild rice
1 tablespoon olive oil or peanut oil
1 cup mushrooms, diced
1/2 cup diced chives
1/2 cup diced orange bell pepper
1/2 cup diced yellow bell pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon cayenne or crushed red pepper
Directions
In a large skillet, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the quinoa and cook, stirring occasionally, until it expands out of its shell, about 10 minutes; be careful not to overcook it.

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and cook, stirring occasionally until done, about 20 minutes.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the mushrooms, chives, bell peppers, salt, and cayenne pepper. Cook, while stirring, for about 3 minutes. Add the quinoa and rice and stir until hot. Serve immediately.

Pick Up Artist - Become a Pua

Pickup Artist

You must have heard of the term pick up artist being used for men who can easily get any woman they want within a short span of time. Generally, a pick up artist is used to denote men who are experts in the art of seducing strange women. While all this might sound archaic to you, we can hereby denote a man who has acquired the skill of picking up or seducing women who are not from his social circle as a pick up artist. If you can somehow become a pick up artist, you will find women loving you and men hating you, but then you wouldn’t want to be a pick up artist if you were not straight, would you?

The art of picking up women can be acquired and learnt and it has nothing to do with your background or your upbringing. Experts in this field treat getting close to women as a task which they approach in a calculative and scientific manner. These are people who have a set route and solution for every new situation that they find themselves in. Instead of finding out and operating in situations that they find comfortable, like what most men do, pick up artists have the knack and the ability to make any situation that they find themselves in comfortable enough to operate in. This is a man who will never feel out of place or out of his depth at least as far as women are concerned.

Since picking up women is both an art and a science for an artist, most pick up artists study and train in order to imbibe all the methods and procedures of getting intimate with women. There are different theories and methodologies that different pick up artists use in order to achieve the same target. Most of the methodologies can be broadly divided into direct and indirect categories.

Direct game is the method of approaching a woman directly and making your intentions clear on approach. This is one of the most popular methods used for approaching and picking up women as previous research and theory indicate that women get attracted to men who are confident enough to express their desires openly. In an open society, this is actually one of the most popular methods used by pick up artists for picking their prey. However, critics of the direct method argue that this kind of an open expression of desire makes women uncomfortable and often results in scaring them off.

On the other hand, pick up artists following the Indirect Method will first try to get close to the woman on other than physical levels and impress her in order to get the permission to seduce her. While this is a method that is generally followed in civilized society a lot, its critics rubbish it as an idea that gives more importance to women when it comes to making relationship decisions.

POCATELLO — In the absence of a leader, Sgt. James Johnson took charge of his badly outnumbered platoon and put himself in the line of fire to cover his men. He was last seen wounded and single-handedly engaging enemy troops in close hand grenade and hand-to-hand fighting, and he undoubtedly saved the lives of several U.S. troops, according to the description on his Medal of Honor.
